*Tangmarg girl receives first Sher-e-Kashmir sports award*
A 24- year old girl Sabiya Nabi from Tangmarg North Kashmir’s Baramulla district an international skier receives first Sher-i-Kashmir sports award in the field of skiing for her best performance.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sabiya Nabi, an alpine skier started her journey when she was in 5th class.
She did her basic course in the year 2009 after that she did Intermediate in 2010 and advance course in 2011.
“I have participated in many regional, state and national events and have won many medals,” Sabiya said.
In 2018, Sabiya participated in 27th Asian Alpine ski championship held in Iran.
Recently, she was facilitated with Sher-i- Kashmir sports award by J&K sports council.
Sabiya said her dream is to participate in winter Asian Games and Olympics.
Sabiya appealed the youth of Kashmir, particularly girls to flourish their talent in field of various sports activities, as there is a lot of hidden talent in the valley.
“I owe my success to my father who always supported me to pursue in this field,” she said
